Interim CEO

William has been appointed the Interim CEO for Lighthouse. He is the Managing Partner at Normera Capital Partners and is a Senior Managing Director and Registered Representative with Enclave Capital LLC . He has held strategic roles at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority Ontario, and executive positions including President & CEO at MCAN Mortgage Corporation, as well as senior leadership roles at RBC Financial Group and Starwood Capital Group. Bill holds an MBA and HBA from the Ivey School of Business, securities registrations with FINRA, and an ICD.D from Rotman School of Business.

David Rubinoff CPA, CGA

CFO

With over 25 years as Vice President of Treasury and Credit Risk at Corpay, David Rubinoff is a seasoned professional in the world of Finance, holding both CGA and CPA certificates. His extensive background showcases roles in treasury, foreign exchange, regulatory, compliance, and operational efficiencies. He is renowned in banking relationships, liquidity and cost management, and data mining. David is a strong finance professional with a diverse skill set, making him a valuable asset for Lighthouse, and in the ever-evolving financial landscape.

Jennifer Amoroso-Bown

Director of Underwriting & Servicing Operations

Jennifer has a passion for exceeding customer service expectations and providing stellar service to internal and external business parties. She brings deep non-prime and prime residential mortgage knowledge and a proven ability to make sound underwriting decisions. She is also a member of the Paralegal Society of Ontario.

Aryeh Rosen

OPERATIONS ANALYST

Aryeh Rosen has worked in various financial and accounting roles, specializing in cross-border tax, corporate accounting, financial forecasting, and operations. Having worked for a public accounting firm and for private companies, Aryeh brings a mix of skills from text-book knowledge to real-world application.

Lexine McKenzie

DOCUMENTS SPECIALIST​

Lexine brings her time management and attention to detail skills to Lighthouse where she serves as a residential mortgage documents’ specialist. Her experience in business retail operations with RBI and Inspire Brands Inc. provided her the opportunity to excel in a fast-paced environment and develop the necessary attributes to succeed in the financial services industry.

Brian Denes

MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER

Brian Denes is an experienced Credit Analyst, with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry for over 15 years, having been an advisor with TD Canada Trust. Skilled in negotiation, sales, business development and customer satisfaction. He prides himself in problem solving and resolution.

Harley Gold M.B.A.

CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD

Harley Gold is a Partner and Managing Director of Peakhill Capital. Harley has closed in excess of $20 billion in loans in over 5,000 deals over the past 23 years in Canada and the US. Harley has extensive financing experience in all real estate asset types including multi-family, CMHC, senior housing, retail, industrial, hospitality, and land development. Prior to founding Peakhill Capital, Harley was the Vice -President of Business Development at CMLS Financial for 11 years, where he originated for institutional accounts, including RBC and PHN.  Harley also worked for six years for a US mortgage banking firm and was successful bringing US lenders into the Canadian market.

Harley holds a Master of Business Administration from Canisius College and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto.  Harley is a member of the board of Governors of the Abraham Global Peace Initiative, and a chapter advisor to several AEPi chapters.

Jeff Birman

Jeff Birman is the president of Cando Apartments Ltd. and Cando Management since 2012. Jeff took over the family operations from the Patriarch Harry Birman who created Cando Property Management in 1982. As an Owner and Manager of real estate, predominantly in the multi-residential space, his responsibilities include everything from day-to-day operations, partner/client relations and strategic growth.

Chaya Cooperberg

Chaya Cooperberg is an accomplished Human Resources, Marketing and Communications executive with experience advising Boards and senior management at publicly traded, multi-national companies. With more than 20 years of experience across industries (technology, specialty retail, industrial, financial services), Chaya has developed a deep expertise on critical and strategic areas such as incentive compensation plans, succession planning, corporate culture, organizational design and restructuring, diversity and inclusion, ESG, brand and reputation management, shareholder activism, financial reporting and financial disclosure, and crisis communications.

Shimshon Gross

BOARD MEMBER

Shimshon (Stephen) Gross is responsible for investment and debt management, private equity investments and legal matters at Initial Corporation. Stephen is a member of the board of trustees of H&R REIT (TSX:HR.UN). Stephen is also a member of the board of directors of Cross River Bank, a New Jersey chartered community bank, and also serves on their lending/credit and compensation committees.

Bernard Heitner is the founder and CEO of the Heitner Group and Reddick Wellington where he leads a team of experts focused on delivering innovative new solutions in asset management, real estate investments and private equity. In 2017, he sold the company to FLEETCOR (NYSE: FLT) for C$900 Million. Today, Bernard enjoys working with visionary investors and business leaders who share his passion for building successful partnerships.

Anthony Heller​

Anthony Heller is the President of Plazacorp Investments Limited. Plazacorp developed many shopping centers during the 1980’s, including several mixed-use commercial-residential projects and in the early 1990’s, Plazacorp’s focus shifted to the development of residential condominium. Anthony has been an Independent Director of Firm Capital Mortgage Investment Corporation (TSE:FCU) since 1999. Anthony has invested in and provided guidance to many successful early-stage technology companies including YAK Communications, which was founded in 1998 and sold to Globalive for $80 million in 2006.

Mark Mandelbaum​

Mark Mandelbaum co-founded Lanterra Developments in the late 1990s and continues to actively manage and serve as Chairman. Mark continues to serve on the Executive Committee of H&R Developments, which manages a large portfolio of residential and industrial properties. In addition, Mark is President of his family home office, Almond Tree Enterprise Inc., which is engaged in a wide variety of both publicly traded securities and private equity. Mark is on the Board and participates in numerous Jewish and health-related philanthropic causes.

Edward (Ted) Perlmutter​

Edward (Ted) Perlmutter is an experienced commercial real estate lawyer. He was a partner for more than 20 years in one of Canada’s preeminent law firms, Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Ted has served on the Board of Trustees at Skyline Apartment REIT since 2013. The REIT has a portfolio value of more than $3.6 billion and owning some 228 properties (over 20,000 apartment units). Ted is also the founding and current chair of the Board’s Governance, Compensation and Nominating Committee and also serves on the Board’s Finance and Investment Committees.

Robert Trager​

Robert Trager is a co-founder and current president of Vault Mortgage Corporation (VMC), one of Canada’s largest residential non-institutional mortgage lending companies. Robert is licensed with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario as a mortgage broker and administrator and is a licensed exempt market dealing representative with the Ontario Securities Commission, the Alberta Securities Commission, the British Columbia Securities Commission and the Autorite des Marches Financiers.

Haya Zilberboim founded Emma Capital in 2021, which has since acquired over USD $1.2 billion of property assets. Haya was formerly the CEO of Greenwin, Canada’s premier full-service real estate firms with more than 20,000 residential apartment units and commercial properties under management across Canada with over 600 employees. Haya was responsible for Greenwin’s Asset Management Services, acquisition and partnership opportunities. Haya is also the COO & CFO of Fishman Holdings North America overseeing over Billion Dollar of Commercial real Estate in North America.
